Free On-Site Activities

We have laminated crib cards and equipment for all of our activities for you to use and enjoy. Just let us know what you require during the booking process.
As these are free to run actvities, adults need to be responsible for the set up and running of them. Each activity takes 10-15 minutes to set up, and we advise that all of the Risk Management Information is read before use.

Adventure Based Learning Course

Balance, problem solve, plan; our Adventure Based Learning Course is a great way to get your groups working as a team.​Tyre balance, stepping stones, spiders web, Zig, Zag, Swamp Crossing, Slack line, plus many others.

Orienteering

​We have 4 courses that you can run: Picture Orienteering (find the pictures), Blue Course (collect clues), Red Course (collect stamps) and Ecoteering (learn about our maunga).

Rock on ​Rock Hunt

Hunt the rocks that have been placed around the lodge grounds - collect points for the most found! Fun game for all ages.

Frisbee Golf Course

6 Holes of Frisbee Golf fun based around Lodge grounds.

Taiea te Taiao Education Box

The Education Box comprises fun and easy-to-follow games that can support students learning about the ecological corridor between Maungatautari and Pirongia Maunga. The games can be played in any order and suit a variety of learners - from active games such as the Maunga to Maunga Beanbag Bird Race to communications games such as Biodiversity Bingo and Conservation Charades. Taiea te Taiao has provided this box for free to use.
